the one about badrul and the kitchen tour - kung pao chicken...
okay guys, lets not waste anymore time... but please, kalau you rasa you cannot handle it, don't look at this blog siang-siang hari... maybe if you want to copy the recipe, maybe you can do it at night... i taknak jadi reason you guys fikir pasal food in the middle of the days... muhahahaa... okay, the first recipe yang i nak letakkan kat sini is the chicken kung pao... tak tau lah betul ker tak ejaannya, but that's how i sebut, so that's how i'm going to spell it... again, bahan-bahannya sangat senang dan mudah... mungkin sedikit jer leceh kalau nak buat pun... sebab macam messy sikit, but only during the initial stage...
ingredients
300gm daging ayam - potong dadu
2 biji bawang besar - dihiris nipis
3 ulas bawang putih - dihiris nipis
1cm halia - dihiris halus
3 biji cili padi - pecahkan (if you like lagi pedas, tambah lagi)
1 biji telur
4 sudu besar tepung gandum
1 sudu besar kicap cair
1 sudu besar kicap pekat
1 sudu besar sos tiram
minyak untuk menggoreng
ingredients

now, after you dah potong dadu, you kena pastikan no water on the chicken... you can use kitchen towel... season the chicken lightly with salt and pepper... sikit jer... lepas tuh celupkan ayam ke dalam telur... oh lupa nak cakap, pecahkan telur dan kacau rata-rata... lepas celupkan ayam dalam telur, golekkan atas gandum... at the same time, panaskan minyak untuk menggoreng... kalau boleh deep fry tapi kalau taknak membazir minyak, ambik masa sikitlah...
bila dah habis goreng, angkat dan toss kan... actually, kalau you dapat rasa, it taste better than chicken popcorn yang you beli kat kedai... in fact, you can make your own chicken popcorn with different variety... you can put a bit of curry powder kat ayam before you masukkan dalam telur... you can also put a bit of jintan manis, or honey or anything yang suit your taste... best tau sambil tengok tv makan chicken popcorn...
now asingkan minyak dan biarkan sikit... lepas tuh masukkan bawang besar, bawang putih, halia dan cili padi... goreng sehingga sedikit garing... kalau ikut original chicken kung pao, kita pakai cili kering yang dihiris, tapi i prefer cili padi sebab i suka agak pedas sikit... if you are cooking for your family and your kids tak tahan pedas, you can change it to cili merah besar... another thing yang selalu ada dalam recipe asal is cashew nuts... tapi gajus nih mahal sikitlah, so i usually skip... muhahaha... unless i'm cooking for guests... kalau sendiri-sendiri saja memang i tak letaklah...
bila bahan-bahan yang dihiris semua tuh dah agak garing, then you can put in kicap cair, kicap pekat dan sos tiram... remember, since kita dah letak a bit of salt kat ayam and kita dah masukkan kicap cair and sos tiram, we don't need anymore salt... nanti masin lah pulak... kacau rata-rata sekejap dan padankan api... straight away masukkan balik ayam yang dah digoreng tadi dan kacau rata-rata... the reason kita padamkan api sebab kita tak mahu the sauce menyerap into the chicken and the chicken jadi soggy... we want the sauce to coat the chicken...
okay, dah siap dah chicken kung pao... and i can honestly tell you, kalau you buat sendiri, it will taste better than yang you makan kat kedai... takda bahan perisa and everything semuanya fresh... selamat berbuka, oh... i mean selamat berpuasa and selamat berbuka... jom kita semua jangan membazir... tak payah masak banyak-banyak or beli banyak-banyak... learn from last year bulan puasa... macam kat my mom's house, for the past two days, memang masak cukup-cukup jer... seronok sungguh i tengok that takda langsung pembaziran atas meja... actually, takda apa pun yang kitaorang beli... just masak sendiri jer... but i knowlah some of you kerja and kadang-kadang tak cukup masa nak masak sendiri, but beli berpada-pada jer...
anyway, i sekarang tengah sibuk dengan project baru jugak... i'm writing the script for operadio untuk hotfm brought by astro... selain tulis script i pun direct the drama as well... jangan lupa nanti dengar kat hot fm twice a day kalau tak silap i pukul 8.40pagi and 4.30petang every day from sept 8 (monday) onwards... wah, bangganya dah jadi pengarah drama, walaupun drama radio.... muhahahhaa... teringat cerita nombor lima persiaran satu... selamat berpuasa!
