the one when badrul visits china... (part 2 ~ xi'an)

it was so irony that the most important place yang nak pergi nih, gambar-gambar semua mostly dah hilang dari simpanan (corrupted files) okay... okay... it's my fault sebab tak buat back-up, but i've learnt my lesson the hard way... sedih memang lah sedih... nasib baik ada jugak yang dah print, so maybe later i boleh scan and upload kan jugak... but for now, these few pictures will make do...

outside the building of terrecotta warriors, xi'an...

on the day most of everyone else flying back to kl, the four of us were flying off to xi'an... sampai jer airport kat xi'an, we decided to book a tour... lagi senangkan... and thanks to hoe who speaks mandarin perfectly, all of us were in good hand! our hotel dekat dengan penempatan orang-orang islam china di xi'an... it was quite weird to see chinese pakai kopiah dan pakai tudung... tapi rasa sungguh refreshing... atleast tak bimbang tentang makanan... but than again, the way they cooked it tak sama dengan chinese food kat tempat kita. their food mostly very bland and tasteless... dan kalau dia orang masak meat, usually they don't waste anything (so dia orang masak dengan darah-darah sekali) and satu perangai buruk dia orang, they all spit merata-rata even kat tempat makan... arrgghhhh!! anyway, the experience yang paling penting kan...

dinner in xi'an sambil pakai leather jacket baru...

i guess sama jer kat mana-mana di china nih, everything is big! the road, the shopping mall, even the mosque... we have to walk and walk and walk... i'm so excited when we entered the dome where the terrecotta warriors were digged out... miles and miles (a little exaggeration here, please) of lime-stone figures stood before us... wow! memang mengagumkan! and semua muka patung tuh tak sama antara satu sama lain. live-size figures of chinese armies... not just orang but animals too... the place was so huge that habis jer tour, we all were so tired... tired of walking...

hoe with terrecotta warriors...

all i can say was, terrecotta warriors were definitely the eighth worder of the world... macam mana agaknya ya tukang-tukang buat patung nih terpaksa ukir wajah setiap dari askar-askar tuh, and to measure them to get the exact size, and everything...hhhmmm... tak cukup dengan tuh, ada pulak patung-patung kuda, kambing, ayam, lembu, khinzir dan lain-lain... sungguh-sungguh menakjubkan!
