bubur kacang hijau with durian...

actually i'm too tired... but if i don't do it now, i will put it off until, hhmmm... forever kot... so nak taknak, i better update malam *or is it pagi already?* nih jugak... a couple of weeks back, i have this stupid idea in my head... okay, lets start from the beginning... everyday i bangun awal but usually after subuh i will go back to sleep since i have nothing else to do *so now you know why i didn't pick up your calls before 11.00am* and my system will only start fully functional lepas pukul 11.30pagi... i remember years ago masa i kerja kat advertising agency, i cooked breakfast and sell it to the staff... it started off with my friends from the same agency and soon after that to the client in the next building... bermula dengan 15 packets until it reached 70 to 80 packets a day... i stopped after three months sebab tak cukup tidur dan rehat... bangun pukul 4 pagi untuk masak then lepas tuh sambung kerja sampai lewat petang... pergi pasar pulak lepas tuh and the routine pusing balik...

but now since i tak buat apa-apa in the morning i rasa macam nak buat balik masak breakfast untuk jual... lepas fikir macam-macam cara including pada siapa i nak market kan the breakfast, i decided to start with the people yang i dah kenal dulu and yang dah pernah merasa my cooking... siapa lagi kalau tak those yang kerja kat astro... so, today, sunday, i decided to do some food testing to choose makanan yang paling sedap dan sesuai untuk breakfast... shonny, hafiz, jolyn and bashir will become my food tester and critics... on saturday i pergi pasar to shop... macam-macam i beli... behoon, mee, kuey teow, daging, ayam, udang dan macam-macamlah... i picked and choose everything carefully... quality is the most important thing for me... dari pasar besar ke pasar borong... nak meniaga nih pun kena tengok harga jugak and kalau i nak buat betul-betul, the taste and the quality mesti sampai to a certain standard...

at 1.30pm i mulakan preparation... tension jugak sebab i took out my camera tapi sebab at that time i sibuk fikir pasal ingredients and other stuff, i lupa pulak nak ambik gambar... anyway, my first dish was black pepper beef kueyteow with ginger and spring onion... i received high marks on the taste but not so much on the presentation... the reason being there was no 'exciting' color to it... there was some concerned about packing the kueyteow that has gravy in it... i received 8.5/10 for taste and 7/10 for presentation...

next dish was siam fried behoon with shredded chicken and shrimp... they seem to love it! the presentation received 9/10 and i received perfect 10 for taste! this is definitely going to be one of the breakfast menus... jolyn requested some accompaniment to go with it so i decided to make sambal udang kering... well, i might change it to sambal ikan bilis depending on which one cost cheaper... muhahaha...

the next dish was fried macaroni with chicken in spicy tomato sauce... they all love it but the problem was, they were not a macaroni fans! susah jugak kan kalau customer memang tak minat dengan makanan tuh, macam mana nak jual... i'm trying to find something yang susah nak carik atau nak dapat but at the same time kalau makanan tuh something yang diaorang tak minat, i don't think it will be a hit... the macaroni received a 7.5/10 for presentation and taste! mungkin kalau jual kat mat saleh laku kot...

then i cooked fried yellow noodle with chicken and dried shrimp... well, what do you know... i received 10/10 for presentation and taste! hhhhhmmmmm...diaorang nih easily amused lah! maybe next time i kena carik food critics yang tough sikit... muhahaha... actually, not really! i'm glad that i choose them sebab every details pun diaorang ambik kira... what kind of vegetables i used, the amount of chillies, sweet, sour, pedas, masam, masin semua ada... bashir wrote "for a mee goreng, ianya sedap!" hhmmmm... he should go out more! jolyn wrote "yummy!" yup, it was a great compliment from a corporate communication senior manager of a satellite tv that wrote 10 pages of proposal or whatever everyday! hafiz and shonny?!? lets not go there!!!

lepas tuh i tried to do something different sikit... well, something yang maybe for us malay yang not really use to it... dried chicken curry noodles with black sauce... i should have stick to my plan... which is i who decide what to cook for them, but instead i asked what type of noodles they want... padan muka sendiri... hafiz and bashir wants behoon, jolyn wants kueyteow and shonny wants all behoon, yellow noodle and kueyteow in one bowl... so instead of buat sekali gus, i have to do one by one! you have to understand one thing, up to this stage, i was doing everything on my own, preparing, cooking and cleaning... dried chicken curry noodles was a hit too... i received 8.5/10 for presentation and taste! not bad!

while preparing for the dried chicken curry, i thought of throwing in some dish untuk makan later... so i prepared beef stew... well, beef stew nih i selalu masak dulu-dulu masa remaja... muhahaha... taklah, tapi dulu i memang suka masak beef stew so takda yang surprising apa-apa pun... anyway, lepas this stage, bashir helped to do the cleaning... thank you... at least i ada some breaks in between... so apa lagih, online lah pergi facebook... muhahaha... sempat jugak fluffy race dua tiga round...

then reza, his wife and their newborn daughter drop by... comelnya puteri aida!!! since diaorang belum dinner lagih, i decided to continue with my cooking so i prepared fried rice with ginger chicken and dried chillies! i honestly love this dish... kalau i masak sorang-sorang, i boleh makan tambah beberapa kali... maybe because i love rice kot... muhahaha... tapi the review yang i dapat not so good... only 8.5/10 for presentation and taste... still tak boleh beat behoon goreng and mee goreng! apalah diaorang nih...

my plan is to cook breakfast three times a week, every tuesday, wednesday and thursday... so i just need three breakfast dishes to cook... earlier on friday, i've already cooked fried loh see fun for the whole group and they have decided that it will be in the menu... jolyn has promise to order 10 packs every week! since i've already had three menus to cook, i decided to stop cooking for the day... but noooooooo! you think they let me?!? bashir decided that he wants some dessert and nicely 'ordered' me to cook bread pudding... so i told him to go and buy bread, milk and sultanas... i thought that after makan so kenyang already dia malas nak pergi beli, but noooooooo!!! hafiz decided to go out and buy... bagus kan ada kawan-kawan best macam nih... muhahahhaa...

well apparently at the shop, hafiz had his own agenda... he thought that since i was in the cooking mood and mode, he wants me to cook bubur kacang hijau with durian... so bila dia balik, dia bawak sama empat biji durian, gula melaka and kacang hijau... so i had to make two desserts... let me tell you, i tak pernah masak bread pudding or bubur kacang hijau in my life *i think!* in fact, bila i masak bread pudding tuh, i was having this mental picture on the menu from the cooking show called chef at home that i watched last friday... i pun terkejut jugak sebab tak sangka giler that i can make bread pudding... walaupun recipe tuh salah sikit *instead of using full cream milk, i used condense milk* but it turn out really okay... in fact, i received 9/10 for my bread pudding though it was not in the breakfast menu... muhahahaa...

and the bubur kacang hijau with durian! well, i have to say this... i'm very proud of myself too! mula-mula tuh panic jugak sebab i really tak tau macam mana nak masak... but one thing when it comes to cooking, i really do trust my instinct... to the extend that i remember to include the daun pandan and santan... and guess what? my bubur kacang hijau with durian received a full mark! 10/10! first timer tau!!! hhmmmm... maybe i should start jual bubur kacang pulak... hhhmmmm...

so all in all, i cooked 10 items in the duration of 8 hours... black pepper beef kueyteow with ginger and spring onion, siam fried behoon with shredded chicken and shrimp, fried macaroni with chicken in spicy tomato sauce, fried yellow noodle with chicken and dried shrimp, dried chicken curry noodles with black sauce, fried rice with ginger chicken and dried chillies, dried shrimp sambal, beef stew, bread pudding and bubur kacang hijau with durian... anyway, i managed to take picture for three items... and the only presentable one was bubur kacang hijau, which i purposely *with the energy that i had left* carefully took time to decorate... muahaha... itu pun sebab i was really impressed with myself... boleh!!!

the one about badrul and cerita semalam dan hari ini...

cerita semalam dan hari ini... muhahhaa... macam tajuk filem-filem tahun 80an jer kan... anyway, i started this post on friday tapi tiba-tiba terlelap terus tak jadi... it was quite a busy week for me dan Alhamdulillah semuanya berjalan lancar... with rakaman carta 30 hot fm, meeting dengan client, pencalonan muzik muzik untuk lagu saat and beberapa lagi, it was quite packed... i'm so happy that now diddy has a group of fans which i dah consider macam close friends selalu datang support him in every event yang dia ada... dengan banner dan macam-macam lagi... it was something yang i tak pernah expect langsung... sampai i teringat dengan three girls yang ikut diddy ke mana saja dia pergi during abp road tour dari kota bahru hinggalah ke johor bahru... it was great!



so i started thinking about writing this post on friday, i was distracted... i went online, bukak my blog and started going to other people's blog... after such a long time tak berborak panjang dengan leen, i called her... we talked about normal stuff... bab apa yang ditulis kat blog masing-masing... bab kucing masing-masing... bab melepak... bab gossip... and of course, about things yang happen in each other's lives... one thing about leen, kalau dia gelak, my phone pun bergegar jugak... and it was so infectious... you mesti gelak bila dengar dia gelak and you will do anything in your power to make her laugh again and again... tapi kalau dia hentak kaki, you better run away... muhahaha... alamak, tak sampai three paragraphs lah leen... takpalah, it beats one liner kan?

so i started to write the first line (which i have deleted) before i bangun and pergi dapur... bukak fridge and i saw some keropok lekor that my mom bought from terengganu early this week... perut pulak tengah lapar and laughing with leen earlier burns (not leen ashburn, leen... burns...) a lot of calories... ambik tiga... oh well, empat puntung and potong dan goreng... as usual, nothing on tv... try nak blog balik tapi jari jemari pulak berminyak tengah makan keropok, so i put it off for awhile... kononnya lah hoping that i can continue writing at night... since i belum makan apa-apa selain keropok lekor, perut masih lapar... biasalah kan untuk orang tangki besar, keropok lekor empat puntung tuh macam side dish jer... but i was so lazy to cook anything yang panjang lebar, so i bukak fridge (again) and nampak condensed milk... buat susu sejuk and cicah dengan biskut kering... ya Allah, this is my favourite masa kecik-kecik dulu... tak sampai sepuluh minit, 8 keping biskut kering celup susu sejuk masuk dalam perut panas...



so as i was about to start this posting after magrib, joe lee called ajak melepak... i dah lama tak jumpa dia so i said okay... i think dah lama sangat tak jumpa dia sampai i tak ingat pun macam mana rupa dia... muahhahaa... actually i owed it to him lah... i neglected him and of course a lot of my other friends for so long... it brought back memories a week ago when i sms some friends i cakap i rindu sangat kat dia orang... i think i hantar sms tuh kat chail, ijin and leen... oh leen, there you go! i mentioned your name in the third paragraphs dah... yeeehhh! so i put off writing this posting again... i went to meet joe lee kat bangsar... since harga minyak naik dan macam-macam barang lagi dah naik tapi gaji tak pernah naik-naik or more like takda gaji pun, i decided to go mamak jer... tapi biasalah kan, mamak pun dah jadi macam italian restaurant dah harga dia... after gossip-gossip sikit we went to uptown sebab joe lee nak carik something for his gathering the next night... tak lama lepas tuh balik rumah and i was so tired already nak on my laptop... the next day pulak nak drive pergi melaka for tv3 euro 2008 mini concert...

so as i was planning in my head to start this posting in the evening, plan tak menjadi lagih... in the morning i was at putrajaya untuk satu program rtm... i jadik panel with ad samad talking about music scene in malaysia... it was for generasi y program yang disiarkan live pukul 12 tengahari... takda orang tengok sebab kalau ada, mesti dah ada orang sms... muhahahhaa... oh well, except for my parents... and my mom told me i look really really fat on tv... her exact words "kenapa nampak macam ikan paus?" and my only explanation to her was "tadi breakfast makan banyak..." i don't want to go through a long winded explanation about tv put extra pounds (or more like hundred kilos) on you and dengar dia bagi comparison between me and mila on how she always look small and petite on tv... or listen to her lecture about sayur-sayuran dan buah-buahan... yes, before you think your eyes fools you, it's me and mila... the comparison...



so as i was driving back from putrajaya and was so sure that i can sit down in front of my laptop and start writing this posting, shonny called and ajak keluar... shonny, hafiz, bashir and jolyn nak pergi dive shop kat one utama so i decided to tag along... lama jugak tak melepak dan borak-borak dengan diaorang... i parked my car at hafiz's house and we all went with one car... dah dekat nak sampai one utama, muzaffar called and decided to join us... yalah kan, sekarang dah jadi diver nih cakap pun pasal underwater world jer... lepas habis diaorang shopping kat dive shop, we went makan at kopitiam... lainlah bila makan ramai-ramai nih... seleranya memang besar... tapi i nih makan sorang ker makan ramai-ramai ker sama jer... muhahaha... muzaffar decided to go back to office (macam office bapak sendiri kan!) and i decided to cook for the rest of the group... pergi jusco kat one utama tuh and beli barang-barang keperluan to prepare cantonese style kueyteow...

so lepas makan, tengok tv sikit and as i was about to write this posting on something yang berlaku, my energy was drained... i realised that i was not ready to write about it just yet... but of course all the key words are here... abp tour, terengganu, keropok lekor, susu sejuk and other stuff... nantilah... i will write about it... soon... enjoy the keropok lekor pictures... time to catch up on my sleep... ngantuk nyer!

the one about badrul and the street guardian...

she has the saddest eyes i've ever seen... her body is lean and thin, bukan sebab banyak exercise but lack of food... every night you can hear her soft cry, not too loud until you can't sleep but loud enough for you to feel her pain... dah sebulan lebih dia berulang alik on the street in front of my house... most of the time dia akan tidur on the padang... on rainy day she will take refuge under the car, any car that she can find... but she will never beg... she never try to enter any of the house... tak kiralah rumah kosong atau ada orang... she has her pride...



today was the third times in a month that i fed her... a few of my neighbours have done the same...there's something about her... dah macam jadi guardian for the whole street... she will march from one end to the other... she bark at any strangers - postmen, orang yang letak-letak card tuh, unfamiliar cars or motorbikes, or just anybody that she think has bad intention... she seems to know who lives in the neighbourhood... kalau i balik lewat malam sekalipun, she was there seolah-olah tunggu i masuk rumah dengan selamat... she will walk behind my neighbours' daughter yang balik from tuition every other night... and when everything went as per what she think is alright, she will go back to her usual place, put her head on her front paws and start crying... softly...

honestly, sejak dari dulu lagi i memang takut dengan her kind... maybe because i had bad experience masa kecik-kecik dulu... i tak pernah rasa selesa bila berada dekat-dekat no matter how tame their owners claimed them to be... tapi dengan yang nih lain pulak... well, not that much different sangat during the early stage... the first time i brought out food for her, my hand trembled... i cooked extra rice that day... i don't want to just throw it away and i found some chicken parts in the fridge, so i cooked them for her... i put it in an ice-cream tupperware and left it near the tree in front of my house and ran back inside my gate... she was a bit skeptical... macam-macam bunyi i buat nak panggil dia makan... i even made a 'woof woof' sound... yup, trust me, you will laugh golek-golek atas jalan raya kalau you tengok i masa tuh terjerit-jerit from inside the gate sambil point my hand to the food... at last she came at ate the food, looking at me a couple of times which i read it as grateful look...

i called her billy jean... it was during the second time i fed her... i remember my neighbours tengah beli roti dengan bai roti depan rumah masa tuh... i tried a couple of names and sound (like cit! cit! cit! or come here girl! but no woof! woof! this time), tapi bila i panggil billy jean, she looked at me and terus datang to the food... my neigbour laugh at the name and start cakap cina with another neighbour yang beli roti jugak... i think they thought it was hilarious to give name to strays like her... but both of them are among a few of us yang selalu feed her... anyway, as i was leaving the next day to go for a meeting somewhere, i saw my neighbour took out some food to feed her... and surprise, suprise! she too was calling her by the same name... billy jean... we looked at each other and smile... rasa kembang sekejap... i just gave name to our street guardian...

xe'an & xe'qi have four different types of biscuits...

xe'an and xe'qi on the other hand ada semuanya... makanan yang cukup setiap masa... both of them ada four different type of high quality branded biscuits... eagle pack, iams, royal canin and science diet... once a week xe'an will have his freshly cooked shredded chicken... change of drinking water every week... they also have their own play-room with all sort of toys, separate litter boxes... their hair will be combed every night and their potty will be cleaned twice a day... they have their favourite spot near the window in the room upstairs where they can look out for birds and butterflies...

sometimes i wonder what goes through her head... here inside the house, xe'an and xe'qi have everything... abundant of food, toys and people to take care of them... but outside, billy jean has to do everything herself... looking for food under the hot sun and heavy rain, sleep anywhere that she thinks is comfortable, and always on guard for her own survival towards other strays... or maybe it's just life... apa-apa pun, i'm grateful to have our street guardian...

f-tersix dive team

yes i know... i've not been updating my blog as much as i should... sibuk dan campur malas sikit... muhahaha... tapi i'm still the same person... muhahaha... entah apa-apa entah punya statement... actually, what i want to say is that walaupun sibuk, i masih macam dulu... happy pun ada jugak, stress pun ada jugak sikit-sikit... tapi all in all, semuanya okay... malas nak cakap pasal minyak naik, ayam naik, daging naik dan semua naik... bukan boleh buat apa pun except kena tukar lifesytle sikit... komplen pun bukan nya ada orang nak tolong... muhahaha... so pandai-pandailah sendiri nak atasi masalah...

anyway, i nak cakap that f-tersix sdn bhd dah mula dapat bergerak sikit-sikit... orang kata bertatih perlahan-lahan... tak banyak, tapi adalah jugak perkembangannya... first and foremost, kita orang dah bukak another segment tapi takda kena mengena dengan entertainment... kita sekarang dah ada f-tersix dive team... since shonny dah jadi full-fledge diving instructor, dia tumpukan almost 100% kat f-tersix dive team... Alhamdulillah, dah ramai yang jadi diving students including sultanmuzaffar... almost every other week dia ada diving trip... pulau redang, pulau perhentian, pulau tenggol, pulau dayang, bali dan lain-lain... he just got back from pulau tioman and at the end of the month akan ke pulau sipadan... so kalau ada sesiapa yang interested nak belajar diving, you can give me a call... i will introduce you to shonny...

another announcement that i nak buat is that,diddy sekarang dalam persediaan untuk buat satu projek khas... we are collaborating with another record label for this special project... insyaAllah sampai masanya nanti i akan bagitau... this project will be the mark of his second album as well...

i have to be honest that we don't have enough budget to come up with proper video clip at the moment... not yet anyway... so buat sementara waktu, we just do our own personal video clip that we can upload to youtube and share it with everyone... oh by the way, congratulations to stacy for akademi fantasia 6 and to david cook for american idol! love both of you!



this version is a remix of saat... thanks to audi... i love both version... this one with a twist of country music... love it! by the way, i shot this video clip at the tip of borneo when we visit kudat recently for a concert... i just used my normal canon camera *not a camcorder, mind you* so quality nyer memang tak seberapa lah... muhahahaa... but i really enjoy it... i do hope you enjoy it too... sekarang tengah excited buat video clip sendiri... muhahahaha...

this picture was taken during my visit to mount kinabalu...

i've been to kota kinabalu a couple of times before tapi tak pernah berpeluang singgah... a few years back i went to mount kinabalu... so lalu jer lah kat kota kinabalu... not really berpeluang jalan-jalan... bermalam satu malam kat kaki gunung lepas tuh balik ke airport and balik ke kuala lumpur... then there was pesta lawas... again, singgah jer kat kota kinabalu international airport sebelum berangkat ke lawas lepas tuh balik semula ke airport... itu jer.. but this time around it was slightly different... well, slightly...

i can tell you that people in sabah are very friendly and nice... it was such a warmth welcome... walaupun satu malam sajer kat kota kinabalu, it was worth it... susahlah nak describe with words... i like it there... and i miss it already...

this weekend we are going to sabah again... different places... diddy ada tiga konsert kat sabah with adam, aliff aziz, imran ajmain and farawahida... we will be in tawau on the 17th of may, sandakan on the 18th and kudat on the 20th... i think it's going to be fun! i think so...
